RESURRECTED WOOD 10/4/21

Located in the northern midwest parts of the United States boasts some very populated old growth wood areas and forests that are perfect for sourcing various dead wood.

HOW DO WE LOCATE THE RIGHT TREE?

We look for trees that are no longer alive, but haven't started to decay yet. Our favorite species of trees include: Wild Black Cherry, Walnut, Maple, Hickory, and Elm. All of which are very hard and known to create long lasting products. What makes these trees standing dead? A standing dead tree may no longer be alive due to a failing root systems, insects, unwanted over grown vegetation, or fungus. This fine line yields timber that we can safely source without destroying our Forests and wooded areas. The timber will eventually fall and naturally decompose on the forest floor. We safely cut down the timber and store each log until we can band saw and dry the wood for use. Stay tuned for an in depth milling process from log to un-dried slabs in our upcoming articles and vlog posts.
